Youth Against Lead (YAL)
Our youth are now getting involved in the fight against
lead poisoning.

Youth Against Lead (YAL) was founded in the summer of
2003 by Rafiqa Shabazz. The organization was formed to
get the word out about lead poisoning and other
environmental hazards and ways to prevent them among
teens.
YAL has been able to get their word out by speaking
at numerous health fairs and conferences including those
put on by United Parents Against Lead, (UPAL), YAL's
mother organization. YAL currently has members from
Philadelphia, North Carolina and Virgina.
Our goals are to have chapters and members from all
50 states and to get proper funding from grants to help
get our word out much faster.
